A publisher criticizes religion

Every publisher of religion seems to place the importance of their religion over that of God.

The original publisher of the Bible seen fit to keep Revelations in the book, where a critic  complains about the lousy job religions are doing on the planet Earth. As a critic, I can see the problem, and have no sympathy for the religions involved. The religions the critic mentions are the top seven religions in the world, and the critic is God. And the story is about the end of the world as we know it. Tough reading, but still better than the movie. In the end, God wins, and almost everyone else loses. Good story, but written badly for today's audiences.

Does anyone remember the story of Galileo? He looked through a new invention called a telescope, and discovered the Earth was not the center of the Universe. He didn't know where the center of the Universe was, but could see that the planets were revolving around the Sun. He felt it was his duty to tell the Church they had been wrong in all the papers they had published for hundreds of years, and they punished him. Obviously they didn't want a critic for their publisher.

Jesus tried to make a point one time about praying. He said, do not just memorize some phrase that sounds pretty, but instead you should deliver a personal message from your heart straight to God's ears. This piece of info was published in the Bible, but the publisher and Jesus would cringe at the misuse of what he had to say about praying. As a critic, I can see a problem, so why can't the religion that publishes The Lord's Prayer see a problem? I don't know, but I would guess that every publisher of religion is more concerned with their own particular rules and regulations than they are with preaching that there is only one God.

If Allah, Buddha, Jehovah, and Mother Nature are all the same entity, then why so much conflict between religions? How about Jesus spending his whole life teaching everyone to become a good Jew, and now the Christians blame the Jews for Jesus' death, and all the other bull that has no basis for any conflict at all? Tell me about the problem between the Catholics and the Protestants in Ireland. As a critic, I blame the publisher of the material these people are reading. I think each of these religions care more about their own rules and regulations than they do about God, and that is why the publisher of the Bible allowed Revelations to stay in the published version.

In another part of the Bible, it says that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. I think wisdom is a pretty good goal for anyone, and all religions should at least consider this as a basis for a new religion. One huge religion, one huge God, one chance for mankind. And once mankind has made the huge step toward peace and love, then we enter Revelations. One thousand years Satan is chained, and mankind gets to see what has been missing all this time. Pretty cool story.

If I were the publisher of a new religion, I might make God a rock, or a group of elements, like oxygen and hydrogen. Or light! All kinds of light would make a good God, because we can't live without light, and it makes life enjoyable. As a critic, I see problems though. Blind people would have a hard time understanding everyone praying to light. So maybe Mother Nature should be God. The scientists could honor the laws of physics, and the simpletons could understand how God actually provides food, air, sunlight, and water for our survival. All religions could spend an enormous amount of energy farming, or planting fruit trees to help feed the hungry, and maybe someone might even dig canals in deserts to save the destitute in remote areas. Governments could get along, because all the rules of each country would be based on more practical laws than the ones religion dictates now. Who knows? Not me, I'm just a publisher and writing critic.
